Steam Infusion awarded £30,000 by Shell Springboard
OAL has been awarded £30,000 by Shell Springboard for its revolutionary Steam Infusion cooking process. The expert panel of judges were suitably impressed by the ability of Steam Infusion to reduce carbon emissions in the food industry.
The Shell Springboard programme is a nationwide search for the next breakthrough in low carbon enterprise, part of a strategy of collaborating externally to fast track solutions to the energy challenge. Since 2005, Shell has awarded £2.58million to 71 companies exploring new ways to cut carbon emissions. Small businesses account for 90 per cent of the UK’s £120 billion low-carbon sector, which is forecast to be worth £4 trillion by 2015.
UK exports on a winning streak
This latest award comes on the back of the OAL winning a nationwide government export competition that seeks to help UK businesses expand overseas. An expert judging panel including senior executives from easyJet, Moo.com and the Institute of Export, were very impressed with the Olympus Automation pitch focused on exporting Steam Infusion™ to the US market: find out more here.
We can’t wait to see what’s next for Steam Infusion!
